Vitter Announces Transportation Grants for Louisiana Graduates

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) today announced that Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. and the University of New Orleans will receive grants totaling $45,000 as part of the Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP).

"These grants will go toward supporting some of Louisiana's brightest minds in the transportation field and will play an important role in the future of our nation's infrastructure development," said Vitter.

The Federal Highway Administration issues grants through the DDETFP in order to prepare Eisenhower Fellows for careers in transportation. Eisenhower Fellows at Southern University will receive six grants totaling $40,000. The University of New Orleans will receive one grant for $5,000.
